Pre and Post Op Orthopeadic Rehab

Pre op orthopeadic rehab is an ideal way to set some specific goals while much of the current research shows that additional prehab prior to surgery both specific to the area and global exercise will improve surgery outcomes and can even reduce inpatient stay. Post op orthopeadic rehab is essential as advice of rehab and steady progression through rehab stages with experienced physiotherapist is essential to successful outcomes.

What is this treatment

Post op rehab is any rehabilitation completed following surgery, particularly with orthopedic surgery the surgeon will have some specific guidelines to follow in the months following surgery with the aim to achieve certain goals to determine a successful outcome. Your physio should work within these guidelines and help to rehab to the desired goals.

Why you might want this treatment

By accessing a good rehab program both pre and post surgery you can make the most of the opportunity of having your surgical invention. Surgeries such as Total Knee Replacements or Total Hip Replacements will not mean the end of activity if a good rehab program is completed.

How we treat you

Your physio will create some specific goals with you designed from what you value most, your physio will also collect some strength testing data using our digital strength testing equipment (VALD). We will then create a home base program for you to complete while we may start additional rehab sessions in our gym helping you rehab with slightly more specificity under safe guidance of the physio.
